The Source and Recruit Company d.b.a. Osprey Technical Recruitment is excited to assist our client, JOA, in their search for a dedicated R&D Electrical Engineer. This role is integral to the Research and Design team, offering hands-on technical assistance in all aspects of new product design, development, testing, and documentation. This is a chance to contribute to the cutting-edge of industrial automation equipment design, with a focus on electrical systems.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate on the comprehensive design of industrial automation equipment, with a focus on optimizing electrical systems. Develop and implement control programs for electric components, enhancing the functionality of PLC, HMI, motion, and message display systems. Design electrical component schematic drawings, panel layouts, and generate detailed Bill of Materials (BOMs). Deploy and manage measurement systems for accurate data collection, utilizing a variety of sensors and devices. Apply statistical analysis to data, identifying trends and drawing actionable conclusions. Ensure effective knowledge transfer through clear, concise documentation and communication. Occasional
Responsibilities:
Maintenance and upgrading of test equipment. Assistance with equipment assembly. Application of object-oriented programming principles.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent training and experience. 0-5 years of experience in engineering design, preferably with converting equipment. Proficiency in oral and written communication. Skilled in the use of hand tools, electronic measuring devices, and computer software, including PLC and motion control, 3D and 2D CAD programs, Microsoft Office, and statistical analysis tools. Physical Requirements:
Comfort with a full day of computer work. Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds. Willingness to work in environments that may be loud and unconditioned during machine commissioning. Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required. Open to international and domestic travel, up to 20%.
