The General Manager - Warehouse has responsibility for managing all warehouse functions for the Countryside facility located on Johnsonville's Main Campus.
This includes all aspects of operations, campus intra-plant transportation, personnel, and customer interactions.
As the Leader of these warehouses, you will foster a safety first culture through awareness, training, and accountability.
You will also be responsible for delivering on KPIs, setting Member work goals, developing annual department budget(s) and ensuring compliance with company and OSHA safety standards, policies, and procedures.
This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your independent decision-making, analytical, project management, leadership, and people management skills.
Responsibilities:
Manage all warehouse activities, costs, operations, and forecasts Monitor and measure operational performance through KPIs and develop plans to ensure the company's strategic initiatives are met Develop annual budget(s) and strategies to ensure compliance Direct, recruit, train, develop and provide performance feedback to direct and indirect reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness Monitor performance of all warehouse departments Facilitate and support initiatives that ensure the proper receipt, storage, handling, and/or distribution of product, material, and commodities to exceed Johnsonville safety and food quality standards Manage intra-plant and campus transportation to include yard spotting, trailer movements and trailer pool management Manage warehouse space and capacity utilization, partner with deployment planning to optimize throughput capacity, and identify space optimization initiatives to meet cost objectives Collaborate with E2E Supply Chain teams to improve efficiency, cost, and service Foster a safe work environment by identifying safety opportunities and collaborating with Safety Teams to eliminate hazards Ensure compliance with all company policies, as well as all Federal, State and Local OSHA regulations Ensure that care, custody, and control procedures are in place Develop continuous improvement and cost savings Initiatives to support E2E Supply Chain goals and company strategic growth plans Embody the Johnsonville Way and represent the Company to all warehouse customers (internal and external) Promote an open-door policy and team environment Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field required
Experience:
8-10 years in Warehousing, Logistics, and/or Supply Chain required Minimum of 5 years progressive direct Warehouse Operations Management required Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience preferred Skills and Competencies:
Demonstrated proficiency in development and implementation of strategy or annual plans (budget, operational performance, SOPs, workshops, etc.
), and bottom-line cost/efficiency management Experience with continuous improvement quality processes such as Six Sigma and/or LEAN Demonstrated experience coaching, training, and developing members in operation roles Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite Ability to lead discussions, present and deliver technical results to a non-technical audience Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; including the ability to deal with ambiguity Other requirements:
Ability to work in temperatures as low as -20 Fahrenheit/-25 Celsius in cold storage warehouse Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
