As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will specialize in translating complex data sets into compelling, interactive visualizations using Power BI.
You will develop and deliver reporting objects which allow for identification of actionable insight, exceptions and process validation for the reporting consumer.
Working closely with the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) team in understanding the underlying data models in the Microsoft Azure platform.
This is an opportunity to be instrumental in working with the reporting consumers in the functional teams, helping to establish priority and specifications on reporting needs.
By governing data in the enterprise, you will lead efforts to apply and enhance Data Governance practices, further profiling reporting objects and driving consistency through the reporting enterprise.
Frequent interaction with fellow team members and reporting consumers in the member community will require excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate design sessions and synthesize requirements into consumable and reliable metrics Propose impactful visualizations as needed and document reporting specifications as designated by the reporting consumer Develop requisite reporting objects with device consumption flexibility Ensure data quality of information powering your visualizations Share responsibility in development of reporting in Power BI/Power Query Document and maintain governance information regarding data and objects in the reporting enterprise Develop and assist in delivery of education material on tool and reporting object use Analyze usage of reporting objects in the reporting enterprise Share responsibility with the greater BI team for ensuring quality and integrity of data in the data warehouse, ensuring consistency and synchronization between systems Share responsibility for ensuring optimal performance of BI systems and tools Share responsibility for maintenance, administration and support of the enterprise reporting platforms including Power BI, Power Query and Azure Education:
A background in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related Discipline, required.
Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
Coursework in Statistics and/or Data Visualization, desired
Experience:
2 years hands-on experience with Power BI/Power Query required Working knowledge of the Integration between Power BI and back-end data sources, specifically Microsoft Azure, SQL Databases, Snowflake Databases, API Connections is preferred Knowledge of multi-dimensional data structures and relational reporting environments Experience in creating user friendly reporting and easy-to-read visualizations using complex datasets Familiarity with data governance and security practices in BI environments Exam PL-300:
Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Cerfication is a plus Skills and Competencies:
